First Day of School

I am too wiped out to blog properly tonight. After a morning matinee, my first class, a rehearsal and a creative meeting, I can't see straight - but in the best sort of fashion. My brain aches 'cause I am using bits that have been dormant for far too long.

Being a student again after 14 years is a very strange experience. I feel ancient compared to these young sullen nubiles clacking away on their lap tops and cell phones at every available opportunity.

"Why, back in my day Sonny Jim, we didn't even have internet access in college," creak, moan go my old lady bones.

I am already behind in class and have a lot of catching up to do in Flash and Dreamweaver. But it is exciting to think of all the cool things I am going to learn and already a zillion ideas are presenting themselves. But how do I DO them?? The trick, I think, will be having the patience to not get frustrated when I get stuck. After all, I have mastered software before and just think of the fun I will have if I get this.

The funniest thing about my first class? If you are caught writing a text, you get kicked out of class. Caught a second time and you are expelled for good! EEEK! They mean business! Also grounds for expulsion, IMing and personal email clicking during class. What a weird new world we live in, eh Rufus?

ok, can't watch the youtube vid till i get home and actually have sound on my computer (and oh right, that rule that we're not supposed to download at work). thank god we don't have school rules at work about texting and IMing. i would have been expelled, i mean fired, a long time ago.

have a good day, schoolie.

i said, "well, you take the course and do all the work but you don't get any credit for it."

he was like, "sounds like life, eh?"

thanks, it is pretty cool but also scary a little bit. taking computer software classes at Champlain. just want to get as many mad skills as possible so i can freelance and work as little as possible and make killer websites (for myself and others!!!). might as well make the fact that i spend all day at the computer a good thing!

how 'bout you...? any plans to leave ye old ball-n-chain anytime soon?

Congrats! yay! "Back to school, back to school, to prove to dad that I'm no fool..." Happy Gilmore sounds a lot like life too, when you put it that way.

I LOVE that video, too. That's the best Beatles cover I've ever heard. Inspired by Bloom? Bummed I'm missing that. Ugh.

hmmm...perhaps cute teacher was just teasing me in front of the class...? have him again in my second class tomorrow. perhaps i will write "love you" on my eyelids a la Indiana Jones?! ;)

that dakota fanning gives me the creeps, me thinks she knows something i don't know. perhaps she is a space alien.

Ali, I am all over that! maybe i could do some Flash animation of your wonderful kitchen creations doing a dance?! your blog is so pretty. i have blog envy AND kitchen envy!
