Ice Castles
Today it was sunny and cold. The light reflected nicely off the newly-formed hard crust of snow which covered the UVM campus. Trudging through this alien landscape felt magical. And then, lo and behold, in the middle of the campus green, some industrious snow fairies created a snow sculpture for all to enjoy.
And what exactly is it? Some sort of a Stone Hedge rip off? A meeting place for Aslan and his many followers, which include a plethora of Talking Beasts, Centaurs, Fauns, Dryads, Dwarfs, Satyrs, Naiads, Hamadryads, Silvans, Unicorns, and Winged Horses? Or was it simply a homage to the 1978 film, Ice Castles (whose album we proudly own)? Oh lord, now I will never get that Melissa Manchester song out of my head...
Melissa Manchester
(this song was the soundtrack to my childhood,
we love you Robby Benson!)
Please, don't let this feeling end
It's everything I am
Everything I want to be
I can see what's mine now
Finding out what's true
Since I found you
Looking through the eyes of love
Now, I can take the time
I can see my life
As it comes up shining now
Reaching out to touch you
I can feel so much
Since I found you
Looking through the eyes of love
And now, I do believe
That even in a storm we'll find some light
Knowing you're beside me, I'm all right
Please, don't let this feeling end
It might not come again
And I want to remember
How it feels to touch you
How I feel so much
Since I found you
Looking through the eyes of love

cool! i love that you are now my eye on burlington outside of the flynn. you find the neatest things! the ice has been hurting my skiiers heart (i hate scraping down the mountain), but it is so neat. when i walk ella in our backyard we crunch through. it's quite fun to make big stomps and pound through the ice. ella makes little holes...
I am outside the window Suzanne! It feels grand, really (but I miss you)! I like crunching through ice-covered snow but I imagine it would be far less fun skiing on ice than snow.
I love it that it has been snowing all day (I bet you have an awesome view from your window!). Now I have to drive to Colchester for an editing gig but all I wanna do is watch the snow fall and drink tea! DEADBEAT!
Hugs to Miss Ella!
