CGI Porn

Imagine what you could do with erotic entertainment if you weren't bound by the laws of physics or 18 U.S.C. 2257.

By physics, of course, I mean the limitations of gravity, proportion, body mass. And by 18 U.S.C. 2257, I mean the federal law that requires every node in the pornography network to maintain records on every performer appearing in an adult film, including their real names, addresses and the probable sex of their first born.

At the moment, producers do not need to worry about either of those laws if their performers are computer-generated. And since illustration is the oldest form of pornography NSFW, it strikes me as ironic that despite the photographic and video capabilities of the digital age, drawing might prove to be the foundation of the Next Big Thing in entertainment.- Wired News, Regina Lynn

After working in the VFX Industry for a couple of years, I can safely say that CGI does not do "it" for me. For example, the 1999 Dreamworks adaptation of the The Haunting was packed full of VFX shots that we worked our asses off to deliver on time (see video). Sadly, this did not add much to the movie and it sucked far more than its predecessor, the 1963 version of The Haunting which had not one CGI shot and managed to be far more terrifying.

Then again, I did get to work on the shot where we cut off Owen Wilson's head and for that, I am eternally grateful. OK, I am too far off topic here, this is all say that the idea of CGI porn comes as a bit of a shocker to me.

What can I say, I like me some internet porn. I admit it, so there. But CGI porn...hmmm...I will need some time to wrap my head around that one. However, if it is not "real," the possibilities seem endless...if nothing else, it will be interesting!

Pushing the envelope could well be the company's motto. Tahl waxes enthusiastic about his ideas for combining sex and violence in ways you can't pull off in live action, but without the tentacles and aliens common to hentai. He shows me an unreleased scene in which a woman is stabbing a man to death during coitus -- a comic-book interpretation of the praying mantis mate-then-eat-your-male concept of sex.

For all their humor, the brothers are serious about their business. They've hired nude models to come be filmed in the studio, so they can study how various body parts look in motion. They get up early and start the workday with a phone or video conference with the rest of their team in London. They have a huge television and very little furniture and a healthy skepticism about the mainstream porn industry.

Despite the creative freedom it offers, adult animation is not entirely exempt from external forces. Earlier this year, erotic art exchange Renderotica had to remove several images from its site after its credit card processor got scared by some of the fantasy pictures and the BDSM.

Now, the terms of service state that you cannot post images that include young-looking creatures, even if in your vision a 1,000-year-old fairy looks about 15 in human years. You also can't post images of humans having sex with beasts except for the mythological kind, and then only if they don't resemble Earth creatures too closely.

"can you go to jail for having cybersex with a minor? what about if the minor's character is of age? "

I'm inclined to think no, though you could be guilty of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. (That they lie about their age is irrelevant, I think, much like it would be in the real world.)

Though I've never totally understood how those stings of pedophiles are actual legal and can get someone convicted. So, you have some chat with someone you think is 14, go for a meeting, and get busted? I'm not sure what they get them convicted on; maybe just the "contributing to the delinquency" thing. But as skeevy as it seems, aren't they being convicted of something they were going to do, as opposed to something they actually did? "Virtual" underage cybersex might fall under the same laws.

That song is from the play Avenue Q, by the way.

but how can they bust people for having fake sex on the internet? and what if you don't know the person is underage? and it is not even sex so...? sketchy business indeed.

ehm, not that i am trying to, uhm, er, find out about this for any reason or, uhm, anything like that! (what is the emoticon for blushing again?) i swear that i only have cybersex with of age goblins and tree elves! tee hee ;)

dang! The Internet is for Porn song is contagious! cannot get it outta my head!
