Chipmunks in Charge!

As part of my full-time 7Days job, I am making all sorts of cool new web content such as editorial vids that accompany an article, sort of like a photo used to. Below is a chipmunk video that goes with a story that you can read this week in Seven Days! Consider it a sneak peek!

Unfortunately, I think you guys are going to get angry mails from people telling you to leave wildlife the hell alone. But I was looking around online and while that's true for bigger animals, those which might form a dependence, rabies-carriers, and/or animals known for causing property damage, there doesn't appear to be any reason not to befriend chippermunkers.

How do you get used to everything you do invariably drawing some percentage of negative feedback?

Yep, I bet some of these letters will come. But I guess controversy sells papers, oh wait, 7Days is free...hmmm. ;)

I gotta say, this chipmunk/human connection seems ok to me. The chippers are independent and have their complex social orders (like Little Girl kickin the shit out of her boyfriend, her kids and the rival female, ouch!).

There isn't that awful fake zoo habitat feel to their backyard. It is a lovely peaceful place that chippies love to inhabit. Hell, I want to move in.
