Sunset at the Sunset Drive In

The month of July is going to be one hell of a ride for me so I snuck in one quick moment of summer fun at the Sunset Drive-In before going underwater.

Fresh Flatbread pizza was delectable, cold beer, good company, balmy weather, heavenly cola, sweet-n-sour candy, screens for the car windows and Johnny Depp seeing visions in the land of the dead.

It was a swell night, even if the pirate battles seemed neverending and the mosquitos never stopped swarming. Ok July, bring it...

I love things that are abandoned, out of business or about to go underwater. Perhaps they can do a screening of one of the better, earlier versions of "Titanic" before it goes under.

eva,
It's so funny that you wrote about going to a drive in.
I've been on this 50's kick all this week. Saturday, I bartended a 50th high school reunion and it had sorta a drive in motiff. And ever since I've been watching James Dean movies and re-reading On the road and the other beat poets and listening to early rock n roll.
That time seemed so eturnally youthful and it's a bit unnerving to see them pushing 70.
oh well,
Tony

love that drive-in. too bad it was built on a swamp. the bugs never leave me alone! I think Junk Thief doesn't realize that it's you, not the drive-in that's about to go underwater. I've got a snorkel anytime you need a break!
