Simpsons and Riveters
Local Burlingtonians react to the news that Springfield VT will host the Simpsons movie premiere. You may recognize Herb of The Jazz Guys, Mandy of Home Items and Aram, the manager of the Roxy.
And more with my beloved Rosie's Girls:

Although I am hapy for the folks in Vermont, I still think the Simpsons seem more like Midwesterners than Northeasterners. My cousin Diane in Springfield, Mo., (see my July 2 entry) was just positive they'd win the honor. Ah, well, they still have Brad and Angelina to console them and Vermont doesn't.
It's a bit amusing, though, that mainly big urban centers and no Springfields are having their 7-11s convertedinto Kwik-E marts.
When did Herb grow a beard? Did he always have a beard?
I think Matt Groening will love Vermont. I am confident in that prediction because of the deep, imaginary friendship that has developed between us as I have watched the Futurama DVDs with the commentary on too many times.
It's not sad! It's... idiosyncratic.
not sad, no sir. me thinks Matt Groening would dig it here. there are lots of interesting rabbits with scruffy beards to talk to.
I think Herb's beard comes and goes but this current one is particularly rich and red. reminds me of some character in a Russian novel.
junk thief - you got Brangelina? I envy this. perhaps next they can adopt a VT orphan. they are very exotic and would add to their brood nicely.
The other vlog debuts a new word: "fictionary."
I'm gonna start using it.
monsieur of the rivets - hee hee, i thought about cutting it (i know, what a shitty journalist i am!) but it grew on me in a fictionary sorta way... ;)
Er... I hate to steal your thunder, but...
